Paul Fisher and his family moved from Texas to Tangerine, Florida. Paul is slowly adjusting to his new home and town but is still not meeting very many new friends. While coming home from a stroll around town on his bike, Paul Fisher sees his mom talking to a strange man. Mrs. Fisher introduces paul to Mr. Costello, president of the homeowners association. Mr. Costello had then left to pick up his son Mike Costello, arriving back at the fishers home around the same time Paul's brother and Dad showed up. Everyone got together for a small meeting in the family room. The main topic of conversation was all about Erik's Football dreams, then the conversation turned to Mike, who was also a football player. Being two competitive football players, Erik and Mike immediately got off on the wrong foot. One day on the way home from the new school Paul attended, called "Lake Windsor Middle School." Mrs. Fisher had pointed out some kids playing soccer in a small field and had also noticed that one of them was Joey Costello, Mike's younger brother. Mrs. Fisher had let Paul out to play with the guys in the field. Paul and Joey ended up hitting it off right away. Days later during one of Coach Warner's football practices a tragic accident occured. While leaning up against a metal post during a thunder storm, Mike Costello was struck down by lightning. All of Mike's Relatives and close friends attended Mike's funeral to pay their last respects. Everyone showed great sympathy towards the Costello family, everyone except Erik, that is. For the next couple of days in Tangerine it rained non stop. The large amounts of rain had caused a sink hole to occur at "Lake Windsor Middle School." All five portable classrooms in the field were slowly being sucked under around. Most kids got out safe and easy, but some of them needed extra help which was provided by the two heroic friends Joey and Paul. After the sink hole occured "Lake Windsor Middle School" had a meeting for an emergency relocation plan. For Paul's relocation, he asked his parents if he could attend "Tangerine Middle School." At first, Mr. and Mrs. Fisher were anticipating, but then decided that it would be best for Paul. Paul now had a chance to start fresh in Tangerine and everything went well!
